We place armed and unarmed security officers on apartment and multifamily communities, construction sites, warehouses and industrial yards, retail centers, HOA and residential neighborhoods, and events across the state.

What Security Work at Op6 Actually Looks Like
We would rather you know the job before you take it. Security work is mostly routine, done well and documented. It is patrols run on time, access control handled politely and firmly, and reports written clearly enough that a client, an insurer, or a court can read them a year later.
Unarmed security officers observe, report, de-escalate, and document. They do not physically intervene in hostile confrontations — that is not the job and it is not what you are equipped for. When a situation moves past de-escalation, an unarmed officer summons an armed officer or law enforcement and keeps a clean record of what happened.
Armed security officers hold a TX DPS Level III commission and work posts where that deterrent is warranted. The standard is the same either way: judgment first, documentation always.
Shifts run days, nights, weekends, and holidays, because that is when sites need covering. Some posts are static, some are patrol. Some are quiet for the whole shift and then suddenly are not. The officers who do well here stay sharp on the quiet nights.
Training, Licensing, and Moving Up in Security
Texas requires security officers to be licensed through DPS before working a post, and armed officers to hold a commission. If you are not licensed yet, we will walk you through what the state requires. If you are already licensed or commissioned, bring your card and we can move faster.
Op6 officers train beyond the state minimum — for some roles, up to 6X the state-required training. Training covers post orders and site-specific procedure, report writing and documentation, de-escalation and conflict management, access control, patrol technique, and emergency response. Armed officers train to the TX DPS Level III standard and re-qualify on schedule.
Everyone we hire is fully vetted — thorough national level background checks. Vetting is part of the licensing requirement, and it is part of why clients trust the officers we send.
Advancement is earned on post. Officers can move toward lead officer and site supervisor roles, and officers who want specialized work can train toward executive protection.
Where We Hire: Security Jobs Across Texas
Most of our security officer jobs are in Houston and the surrounding metro — Sugar Land, Katy, Cypress, Spring, Humble, The Woodlands, Conroe, and Fulshear.
We hire outside Houston too. We keep an office in Brownsville with an active account there, and we staff officers across the Rio Grande Valley, including McAllen. We hire in Austin, and we take assignments statewide.
