Protection built around how the Valley actually works
Op6 Security Services provides bodyguard and executive protection details throughout the Rio Grande Valley: McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, Harlingen, Brownsville, and the surrounding border region. We work short engagements, standing programs, and travel details for executives, business owners, professionals, visiting delegations, and families facing a credible threat. Op6 is veteran-owned and licensed by Texas DPS-RSD under License #C26264901.
Op6 is headquartered in Houston and staffs protective details across Texas, including the Valley. Agents are assigned to an engagement and deployed to the region for its duration, with a detail lead running the operation on the ground. We plan Valley work around Valley conditions: crossing and bridge timing, the drive between McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, and Brownsville, airport arrivals and departures, and venue entrances that let a principal come and go without an audience. Spanish-language capability is part of how we build these details, because it affects principal interaction, venue and hotel coordination, and what gets said over the radio when something goes wrong.
A detail is more than one person standing next to you. It includes advance work at hotels, restaurants, offices, clinics, and event sites; route and timing planning with alternates; protective driving; close cover, armed or unarmed, depending on the threat picture and the setting; and coordination with our Houston headquarters for the length of the engagement.

Four things worth asking any protection provider in the Valley, and how we answer them.
- A plan built for Valley geography — Op6 is veteran-owned, headquartered in Houston, and licensed by Texas DPS-RSD under #C26264901. Valley details are planned around Valley conditions: which route to the airport is moving at 4 p.m., which venue entrance actually works for a low-profile arrival, how long the run from McAllen to Brownsville really takes, and how crossing timing changes the schedule.
- Agents vetted well past the state minimum — Every officer is fully vetted through thorough national level background checks. Armed personnel hold TX DPS Level III credentials. Op6 agents carry up to 6X the state-required training, and every engagement is run by a designated detail lead rather than a rotating list of names.
- Spanish-language capability on Valley details — We staff Spanish-speaking agents on Rio Grande Valley engagements. That shapes everything from a quiet word with a venue manager to how quickly an agent can control a scene or communicate with responding officers.
- A conservative, documented cross-border protocol — We provide protective coverage on the US side: advance planning, route and timing, residence and airport work, and secure ground transport to and from the crossings. For the Mexico portion of an itinerary we coordinate a defined handoff to vetted local providers. Op6 does not carry weapons across the border and does not operate armed in Mexico. Our role there is planning, coordination, and advisory.

Common questions about bodyguard services in McAllen and the RGV
Do you provide armed bodyguards in McAllen and Brownsville?
Yes. Armed protective agents hold TX DPS Level III credentials. Many engagements run unarmed instead, either because the setting calls for it or because the principal prefers a lower profile. Note the distinction: unarmed officers observe, document, de-escalate, and summon armed officers or law enforcement rather than physically intervening in a hostile confrontation. We will tell you plainly which posture fits your threat picture.
Can Op6 protect me when I cross into Mexico?
Not directly, and we will not pretend otherwise. Op6 does not carry weapons across an international border and does not operate armed inside Mexico. What we do is the planning and the US side: advance work, route and timing, secure transport to and from the crossing, and a clear, documented handoff to a vetted local protective provider for the Mexico portion of your itinerary. On your return, we pick the detail back up at the crossing. Be skeptical of anyone promising you armed coverage on both sides.
How do you cover the Valley from Houston?
Agents are assigned to your engagement and deployed to the region for its duration, not dispatched trip by trip. Advance work is done on the ground before the principal moves, the detail lead runs the operation locally, and coordination runs back to our Houston headquarters while the detail is active. For longer or standing programs we build the roster around the schedule so you are working with the same people.
Can a detail travel with me outside the Valley?
Yes. Protective details travel with the principal across Texas, to other states, and internationally. Executive protection engagements routinely include international travel, with advance work handled ahead of arrival at each stop. Give us the itinerary and we will build the coverage plan around it.
What determines the cost of a protection detail?
The main drivers are the threat assessment, whether coverage is armed or unarmed, the number of agents and hours per day, whether protective driving and vehicles are included, how much advance work the itinerary requires, travel and overnight coverage, and whether the engagement is a single day or a standing program. We scope all of that with you first, so what comes back reflects the actual plan rather than a guess.
